Michigan - Crittenton nurses ratify new contract

  1. The registered nurses at the Crittenton Hospital Medical Center have approved a new four-year contract.

    Passed by about a 9-1 margin, the agreement is retroactive to 2003 and will expire in 2007. Of the 325 members of OPEIU Local 40, AFL-CIO, CLC, there were 220 who cast ballots, authorizing the contract 197-23. The nurses will get a 4 percent wage boost each year of the pact. The contract also calls for increases in shift, weekend and on-call premiums, as well as additional compensation for voluntary overtime and increases in employee-paid health care premiums.
