Hospital worker and wife charged in patient ID theft scheme

  1. A Navy vet and his wife stole more than 80 patient records from Lenox Hill Hospital and used the personal data in a bid to steal more than $1 million worth of designer duds from Saks Fifth Avenue and other retailers around the country, authorities said Wednesday.
Kyle Steed, 30, a Lenox Hill employee from 2011 until earlier this year, stole the data from mostly elderly patients then passed the information along to his wife, Krystle Steed, 30, who was able to make thousands in fraudulent purchases with the info, prosecutors alleged.
