We have 20,000 American die each year in the United States of America due to no health insurance
I live in Appalachia. A LARGE (read "majority") of the patients treated at our regional hospital are "uninsured" (Medicaid recipients). They get cared for just like everyone else. No one is turned away because of lack of insurance.
Some of the uninsured who are dying are doing so because of poor choices (buying cigarettes and alcohol instead of insurance), not because of our neglecting their care. I see it everyday.
