no really, i don't actually play, i watch as my brother plays and tell him what to do every now and again. i can't work the controls for ****.

babies were getting shaken and people killed before video games. one game i "played" the main character was a schizophrenic and spent the entire time killing docs/nurses/other patients with screwdrivers and glass shards trying to break out as the voices told me to. awful, sure, a challenge and fun to pass the time with, definently.

i'm kind of biased against video games simply because of the lack of getting up off the couch and outside for exercise. i didn't let my kids have them. mean old mom.

Obviously, it was written by (sorry) a guy who never had a kid.

Naw, my guess is it was written by some woman that never had a kid. You know how those women are?

One comedian I loved joked, I can't get enough of video games if they made a game about stabbing babies I'd be the first one screaming, die, die, at the tv as I moved my toggle. It's a stress reliever to get to kill some ****.

Well, that hurts those of us who work ER and see actual babies who have been abused. Makes us wince. Not funny.

That is why there are different kinds of senses of humor I guess . .

sure hope you're not in your gaming mode when you deal with real patients.

As a mommy of 4 - there are so many other things to do in this big wonderful world!

    Music, dance, art, sports, etc.

Living in the cave of video games is not all that conducive to having relationships. I've noticed young married women complaining that they can't get their husbands to stop playing video games and spend time with them. I think we've started a very bad habit for young people.

Again - mean old mom who won't let her kids play video games.

Unless you game with others, also very good for making online friends. I do play a lot of computer games myself, strategy games are always the challenge.

I am in COMPLETE shock & utter disgust that Apple would ever condone anything such as this! Isn't there SOMEONE we can write to or call that can investigate that further & have the game pulled/recalled???? I'm thinking there is surely some governmental regulatory agency for video games...how do we find out who that is? Any one have any suggestions? Perhaps people in the healthcare field and/or families that have been affected by this could start a petition or something...

Big bad Apple! At this point I can only assume this app fell through the cracks. Apple has historically been very controlling of the third part application process. In fact, apps for the iPhone/pod were not part of the initial equation. Apple eventually allowed developers to buy the SDK and produce apps that would only go to the store after review. Obviously, there was intense pressure by the public pushing Apple to allow apps. If the app process was open source, shaking baby games would be a sunday stroll in the park compared to the crap that would be out on the market.

Once the app process began, Apple was criticized for being too picky and controlling of the app process. In addition, Apple has historically been selective about the material that makes it to the app store. In fact, some months ago, Apple refused to allow nude apps to be sold. They are bad guys for being too selective then and bad guys now. Cannot win for loosing. The app was removed and can no longer be sold. I ask that some of you take the time to read into the thread before shooting out half cocked posts.
EDIT: However, Apple may want to take a look at the process to ensure these types of apps do not slip through the cracks so to speak.

As far as computer games making people violent. I do not buy it. In fact, I do not even rent it. People have been happy to club themselves to their ancient elysian fields long before modern man existed. That trend has continued throughout history, and is no different in modern times. Instead of taking a few feet of steel in the gut, we prefer to do our killing by shooting a bullet through your gut. No difference IMHO.

Nor do I see video games causing mild mannered kids to turn into psychopathic killing machines. If somebody is going to loose the plot and shoot up a school, the cause of this behavior is complex and most likely will never be fully understood. Simply blaming video games is myopic and overlooks the many complex issues and concepts involved in such incidents.

Amen GilaRN... I saw that app, and personally I think it would have been a heck of a lot funnier if the baby would bounce more...

I also love playing my kids on XBOX Live. I'm a Call of Duty and Halo guy..
Anyway, One kid brought a game the other day called Grand Theft Auto... I forget which version... but anyway, the beating, choking raping, and filthy language were enough, but finding the dildo in the police station men's locker room, well.. that trumps a shaken baby any day. Especially when you can beat people in the head with it and take their car. Very realistic indeed. Needless to say, no mo' grand theft in my xbox.
Oh, and these kids were about 13/14....
Point is, one crude baby app is something that a "kid" wouldn't find funny for a minute... they would want blood, bone and vomit.

The couple in Fairborn Oh findicted or the husband saking the baby to the point of death. Now they are in the news. It seems that they think it unfair to have to stay in the county Jail as they being home owners show no flight risk and Due to a clean criminal record otherwise they are no danger to the community at large. They think that 1/2 a mil bail for them is too excessive and unfair due to their financail woes!
