Five nurses at a Denver hospital were suspended for three weeks when they opened a body bag and commented on a dead man's genitals: Denver Health nurses suspended after opening body bag to see man's genitals.

The incidents occurred at Denver Health Medical Center between March 31 and April 3, 2017 and were reported May 8, the Denver Channel reported. According to hospital spokesman Josh Rasmussen, the nurses opened a body bag and made admiring comments about the man's genitals. The comments were heard by a sixth nurse, who believed they were inappropriate and reported it to hospital staff.

A police report confirmed the account: Multiple staff members viewed the victim while he was incapacitated, including after he was deceased.”

Four of the nurses have since returned to work at the hospital, and the fifth is no longer is employed by the hospital, but wasn't terminated,” the Denver Channel reported.

Police said there wasn't enough evidence that a crime had taken place to file charges. The incident will, however, go on the nurses' permanent records at the hospital.

Well, if they're citing a spokesperson from the hospital and the district attorney's office, it's likely true. Despicable behavior.

It is inappropriate although obviously the patient was beyond caring. it is rather weird, I have never had any desire to look at anyone's' genitalia for 'non-professional' reasons. Now a bit off topic here however this did cause me to recall an incident which occurred at a hospital I worked at many years ago. The RN caring for a patient was having trouble sketching a member to show the urologist where the issue was prior to him going into the room. I offered to sketch as am pretty good at sketching but above and beyond that I told the urologist I had seen male genitalia from birth onward as I have a male twin. I told the urologist I was born with a member in a manner of speaking. Although this urologist was known to be all business and rarely so much as smiled I managed to get quite the laugh out of him ;-) gotta lighten things up sometimes!

"Stupid is as stupid does."

Nurses in question actually began "gawking" while patient was alive but unconscious. They carried on gossiping about what was seen even after the man had died, hence their going back to look inside the body bag.
