Just want to know if anyone knows of any nursing agency that some one had use in the pass to assist them with the process. I also would like to know if i need the CGFNS to practice in New Jersey and New York. Ihave read of some changes in the NCLEX exam not sure whats it about either if some one could explain briefly. I know the process is a long one but the earlier i start the better it is. Will also be starting a new job soon. Thanks for your help. oops:yawn: any recomendation on good NCLEX book.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Starting point would be meeting requirements of the state Board of nursing and be aware if you are short in clinical and theory hours in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetric and general adult you will not meet requirements. US training is general not specialised like the UK. You can't start anything until you have graduated and registered with the NMC. The issue then will be finding a employer willing to petition you for a GC and then you join the long long queue of retrogression. Currently looking at 4+ years of waiting although that does go up and down.

CVS through CGFNS is required for New York and the process takes between 6-9 months. Not sure what NJ are looking at

Suggest you read the NCLEX forum regarding good book and you can find that under the student section

Thanks for your info Silverdragon. I know I have to register first just wanted to know wat the process would be. I will check out the state board and see the requirements as we did combined studies in first year and a baby unit in 2nd year. Thank you for your swift response.
