I am an LPN in PA and have pending misdemeanor charges (possession) that are going to be dropped to a summary disorderly conduct (hopefully). My questions are what happens after self reporting the pending charge and then what happens when the charges are reduced will I still have to go before the board or is this something that can be settled via a lawyer?
Plan on a trip before the board.
While you might a few responses here, you need to bear in mind that each situation is unique. As such, I think that these are questions that only the BON can answer, and that will likely depend on the final disposition. Once you have that, you might consider consulting an attorney with experience handling this type of issue before the PA BON. If you don't have an attorney to represent you before the board, you might visit the The American Association of Nurse Attorneys
Best wishes as you work through this issue.
