Help/guidance....arrest record and renewal

Nurses Criminal

Published

Long story short..almost 2 years ago shortly after i renewed my license i was arrested for assault and stayed one night in jail. Shortly after the charge was dismissed. I have not notified the board of the charge and am up for renewal by oct 31st. I have a good work history, never had anything wrong or reported against my license before and have never been in trouble with the law before that incident.

I will be turning in my license renewal info ahead of the deadline and have consulted a lawyer, still awaiting to hear back from them. Will the board of nursing let me work during the meantime if they are still investigating past oct 31st? Or will i just have to wait to resume work until they pass judgment? I figure the process can take anywhere up to 6 months or so.

If anybody has personal experience with renewing your license after having an arrest or anything i would love to hear from you and hear how the process was, specifically for tx. This site is an awesome resource, thank you guys!

Hiii my situation is similiar from California but here's what happened to me...I was arrested for second degree robbery while I had a license and was bullied into a plea deal of a misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon conviction...the bvnpt was notified by the doj 5 days of my arrest date... so they knew before I even valued out. So I sent the my court certified documents and everything they requested. The bvnpt gave me a citation and I paid a fine. License still active. Now, my renewal is here and my job found out and seen the assault conviction and they just fired me...sucks buts oh well...as I renewed I told them my conviction as they already know so I'm going to call the enforcement department to see if they still need it so I would tell them and start sending them your court certified documents even if it's dismissed. I seen nurses not say anything even my mistake and get a citation for it...may e it's different here in California...but hope this helps
