Hey all,
So I've been applying to the crazy job market in southern cali for about 3 weeks now. I have applied to the field I have experience in (but only at one hospitals). At the other hospitals I applied to other fields like NICU/L&D, ICU; mainly because I want to experience something else. Although it has only been 3 weeks I'm going crazy not working. There are about 5 major hospitals with multiple affiliate hospitals in the area, but only one Job Search website per the 5 major hospitals. My thing is should I still apply for numerous positions within the hospitals or does that look bad? I don't want to appear desperate, but in about another week I will be lol.
Words of encouragement and advice is always appreciated

I know how crazy the job market is here. Unfortunately, I think you have a better chance applying for the field you have experience in. I'm pretty sure most hospitals require you to have at least 1-2 yrs experience since you are interested in specialized fields. My other advice is to apply for a Med-Surg unit at a hospital, then wait to see if there is an opening for a "new specialty" position & you can transfer internally. At least, you'll be working and have your foot in the door..
Yeah that is my second option, third is to do travel nursing but as a last option. Thanks
