UCLA New Grad Residency Program Winter 2019

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to start a thread for people who applied to UCLA's new grad nurse residency program! Lets keep each other updated!

Hello! I applied to general ICU and med-surg and got a status change on 11/1 - Routed to interviewing supervisor.

I wish I knew they were going to add SICU and CICU. They weren't available options when I applied.

I heard about the long processing times at the CA boards so I submitted my application for licensure a month ago and they replied within 2 weeks saying my transcripts were missing. I'm working on that now but I thought that was a pretty fast turnaround time! I graduate in December so my goal is to take the NCLEX by February!

The application is on the Breeze site, right? Just want to make sure because I haven't submitted mine yet... And did you submit your fingerprints too?

Yep, breeze.ca.gov. I submitted my fingerprints when I was visiting Cali a few months ago. And I didn't know this prior to but you can submit fingerprints before you even submit your application but I think they have to be livescan. Not sure about the manual ones for out-of-staters.

I'm from CA and yes they require livescan. It's pretty easy because its electronic, so afterwards they will send the fingerprints right away. I believe you also submit your copy of the livescan on breeze.ca.gov.

wangja80- I graduate this December. So are we able to complete and submit our breeze application now? Leaving our transcripts the only thing to submit later?

Hi I'm from LA but went out of state for school. When I spoke to the Boards in Oct they told me I could apply early so I did. I don't see why it would be different for in-state applicants. Just double check with your school and/or Boards cuz I don't want to give you the wrong info.

On the application it specifically says, "if you are a student graduating soon from a California nursing program, please do not submit your application until two weeks prior to your graduation date.......submitting your application too early may prolong our process."

Out-of-staters can apply at any time
