After 10 years of bedside nursing and 5 years of online course work to complete my BSN and MSN in informatics I am about to take the plunge into transitioning to a full time nursing informatics role. I was offered a position as an EPIC application analyst at the health system where I've spent my entire nursing career, and I'm cautiously optimistic about the many changes ahead.
The question I have is for others working in the clinical and nursing informatics fields:
I am looking for written and audio material that will help me stay informed in my new informatics role. Specifically I'm wondering what informatics related periodicals or websites are your "go to" sources of information and updates in the field. I would like to join the ANIA to have access to their resources though I haven't done that yet.
I'm also curious if any one knows about any good blogs or podcasts related to clinical or nursing informatics? Thanks and I look forward to hearing your responses!
I'm in a similar situation... would love to see others' suggestions too!
There is something called The Advisory Board (Advisory Board
) that has info, resources, webinars; there is an interested section (Health Care IT Advisor) within it too.
