TO ALL NCLEX Exam takers

My Exam is due this March in HK and I have yet to find an affordable

and nearest hotel to the testing center. I'll be traveling with a companion.

Any travel agency would you recommend? Or is it more cheaper if I plan

everything on my own?

Need your recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Cebu Pacific has confirmed my Hotel reservation at Ramada Hong Kong Hotel and it would cost $200/person for the 3 days and 2 nights (twin sharing) inclusive of tax and other charges plus the hotel transfers, breakfast, etc. A friend of mine will accompany me during the exam so grand total will be $400.

While I checked HotelTravel.com, they are offering $226 for the entire stay good for 2 occupants inclusive of all taxes, but I'm worried in making online reservations particularly giving my credit card.

Anyone have tried HotelTravel before and what is your experience with them?

I have found this site to be very informative! I was wondering if anyone there have scheduled for nclex-rn in hongkong by march 29th and would be interested in sharing :saint: the anxiety related to the exam and travel. Am still searching for a reasonably priced hotel near the testing site or a good package -airfare with accommodation...that part would definitely be one less worry on D-day itself! But will check out those sites mentioned elsewhere in this thread though. Thanks for the info.

By the way,are you aware of the most significant changes in the NCLEX that will be effective on April 1st? Please enlighten me more...Again many thanks from a newbie in this forum.

Aquarian,

Hey I booked in Metropark hotel, Kowloon. :p It used to be called Metropole hotel hehe. Its located at waterlood road, near yau ma tei station. WE only booked the standard room. Surprisingly, the room is okay for 3 persons, and the extra bed is not bad, its as big as the the regular beds. Plus the bed and pillows are really comfortable unlike the other hotels so I've heard. :p

I just don't like that its far from the MTR station. Its like 15 to 20 min walk from the hotel. BUt the hotel was very helpful despite the language barrier.

If you plan to tour the place after the exam, I suggest you take a hotel from the Kowloon side because Hongkong side is more of a business district. But if you want a place away from the tourist place hmm, I think most of them are far from the MTR station.. sadly.

Mrschuks,

Yep the prices you will see in hoteltravel includes all the charges and extra taxes. You do not have to worry for hidden charges hehe. I booked my airline ticket online also from cebupacific. It was during their sale. :p

I did not use the MTR airline express, its quite expensive when you can take the citybus for 33 dollars. BUt at the end of your trip, you might want to take the hotel's shuttle service or a cab, because boy you will be so tired haha. Goodluck :p

waaaaaaaahhh, I just took the NCLEX. I would recommend Central Park Hotel.. It's just a walking distance to Grand Millennium Plaza.

Thanks for sharing and if you find a suitable hotel, don't forget to post them here so I can fix my dilemma as well.

Try your luck at Las Palmas Tours & Travel and look for Olive (995-0723). They offer complete package, flight (PAL or Cathay Pacific) and hotel accommodation, with extra freebies.

Right now, i'm still not decided if to proceed with HotelTravel or just buy my reservations at Cebu Pacific.

hi there! finally settled for a studio-type flat rented out by seemingly enterprising filipino-owners( from what I gathered) located right at wing lok st, sheung wan district. The promo homestay package is for nclex takers bound for HK. The cost is 198USD for 3D/2N, twin sharing....add 36USD for an extra night. airport transfer to accommodation site and back, welcome drinks and accompanying coordinator to exam site included. I certainly hope this package will be good enough as promoted; airfare obviously not included. call Budatravelmanila tel 920-9474 to 75 for your inquiries.

most of the hotels nearby have already been booked on the dates I had planned or have higher rates well beyond my budget. so much for early planning, huh? I guess it is really better to book 2-3 months ahead of exam day. Or better yet, pick an exam date on an off peak season in HK for better money values!I just hope this works out just fine! now, i can set that aside and focus again on my review. Tough times ahead!

Is it true that even if you book a month before your arrival date with HotelTravel, the only time they will charge you is days before or arrival

at the hotel?

Aside from Ramada, I'm adding Novotel Century Harbourview Hotel among my choices.

I took the exam last january, Central Park Hotel is near the exam site. it's 3 to 5 mins walk to grandmillenium. hotels in the kowloon side they say is cheaper try checking the web site of the hotel in hongkong, hotel rates changes. don't take a cab.....its expensive, the MTR is easy to take. good luck

I'm sure those who are planning to take their future exam in HK will find those package details posted helpful especially those who are in a tight belt when it comes to expenses.

Planning at least 2-4 month in advance has definitely put you on a high edge so you wouldn't have to worry of these simple things when it comes to your exam date and maintain your focus with your review.

Despite several grueling weeks of planning (my review not getting in the way and always been a priority), I might end up at Novotel Century Harbourview Hong Kong which is near Central Park and not as expensive as other hotels.

Can't wait to have things settled already, March is just around the corner.

God Bless and thanks!

Guys,

Any recommendation of places to visit while in HK aside from Ocean Park, Disneyland, The Peak?
