Hello there! I graduated from UP batch 1990, been here in the US since Dec. 1993...started off in med-surg then to hemodialysis peds acute/chronic...love the job!!! Most of my co-workers are Filipinos too, overflowing with pansit, hehehe...it took a while to come to the US, but be patient...it's sad that we have to go to other countries and have fruits in developing our nursing careers and pockets...at least we help with our remittances...To all students and registered nurses, mabuhay!!!

hi poisonivy29, i am also a graduate of nearly same batch, 1994 to be exact. indeed, nursing career during our days were not in demand and most of the graduates ended up as medreps or in other fields. like you i am planning to take nclex maybe late this year or early next year. i already sent my cvs and patiently waiting for their reply. i am so anxious because i've been away from nursing work for more than a decade and now i am trying to regain all the knowledge and skills that i was once have. keep in touch and let us know any new news about you. if in case, you know any institution that are giving training like dialysis or something, please let me know.

Hi. I would just like to know if it really is a requirement for filipino registered nurses to undergo a bridging course? You see, my boyfriend is a nurse in the Philippines. He's been working as a registered nurse there for over 2 years now. I just recently moved to Vicotria, Australia. He is thinking of moving here too. Recently, he applied for registration at the Nursing Board of Victoria(NBV). And we also found an agency who can help sponsor him going here..so we're just waiting for the NBV registration. Ive been going over the website of NBV, and I dont see anything about a bridging course. I also asked my friend in Canberra(who knows a filipino nurse who migrated from the Phils last december) if he had to undergo a bridging course, he said no. all his friend did was take the ielts exam, apply for registration at the nursing board of NSW, and found an agency that sponsored him. I'm really worried about the bridging course..its really expensive. Hai..it might be much longer than I thought before I see my boyfriend again. I would really appreciate your help and your reply. God bless.

Greetings comrads!

I am a second-year nursing student and still wanna pursue this course... (it's kinda hard, really...):crash_com and my family already has big plns for me abroad! i need every pieces of advice from you, guys... God bless us all!

Depends on where he is going to work there. If he is told that he needs to have the bridging course then he does. And most actually do from your country.

Suggest that you post about this on the Australian Forum, or use the links there to contact the nursing boards there directly/
