Age-slapped in the face!

This is not really a joke, just something funny to me. I was driving to the post office the other day, and went to make a left hand turn, but stopped because an old couple was in the crosswalk. Some jerk behind me cut around and tried to turn left from the right hand lane and pass me. He slammed on the brakes, narrowly avoiding the old couple. I looked over and saw some old bald guy with a grey beard, since both our windows were down I yelled "Nice move gramps, almost killed someone!"

The guy in the van, just looked at me funny. After driving away I realized that I am also bald, also have a grey beard, and that he was probably the same age as me. Age-slapped in the face! When the Hell did I get old?

Cheers

For me it was when I got up and chastised a group of loud teens in a movie theatre. Oh, lord, I'm THAT old lady.

I reported the guy with the junk car in his yard to the city. Just doing my civic duty to clean up the neighborhood.

(I used to park an RV in the yard til some jerk reported it.)

Well I''m getting the senior discount at thrift stores without asking for it! A few years ago, I started getting the senior coffee at McD's without asking for it, At first I got mad but then again I'm not paying full price. I do have a few grey hairs, next year is my 40th high school reunion. So at one clinic I still rock out to the 70's music, one MA says he likes my "classic rock". When did it become classic?

Now that's painful.

Take the senior drink discount wherever you can get it! Taco Bell, where you can get all the refills you want, gives you a medium sized cup so you don't spill it all over yourself, I guess.

Ah, that's what you call it!

I got trapped behind a car going 20 miles under the limit the other day. Like everyone else, I was impatient, cursing and flinging my arms around. I could see them in my rear view mirror and watched the car ahead of me. Eventually, the slow moving vehicle pulled over and we all passed, some of us honking, others cursing or giving the single finger salute. When I passed the car, I looked over and it was some little old retired lady sitting there with a flat tire, calling someone on her cell phone.

Then I got to the appointment I was headed for, and the office staff referred to me as "Ma'am" and "Mrs. Vee". That's when it hit me that I'm probably the same age as that "little old retired lady" I was so sure shouldn't be driving.

I got my first "senior discount movie ticket" when I was in my 30's. I had a few gray hairs and my mom bought the tickets, with me standing beside her. She didn't ask for a discount for either of us -- but the teenager selling the tickets assumed we were both old. My mom thought it was hysterical. Me? I laughed, too.

I also remember the first time that the bag boy at the grocery store call me "ma'am." That hurt a bit as I was in my early 30's.

Yeah the first time at McDs, the girl behind the counter looked to be about 12 years old. I am trying to remember to use my AARP discount. One grocery store give senior discount on Tuesday. I actually am making a list of local senior discounts.

At one hospital at which I did a contract there was a dunkin donuts in the lobby. Every evening I would stop and get my coffee there. One time I was running late and left the house without makeup. For the first time, without asking, the young girl behind the counter have me the senior discount! Ouch!

Is ma'am not the norm where some of you are from?? I'm 20 and I get called ma'am, I'm assuming out of politeness and not seniority.
