types of pain

  1. We are starting to teach classes on pain management to our nursing staff. I am looking for a "list" of some sort that would help describe a specific pain as nociceptive or neuropathic. This would be used as a "quiz" after class to measure the understanding of the concept.

It describes how pain becomes conscious: transduction, transmission, perception and modulation. The other term used in our discussion of pain is neuropathic.
