RN's /Students Removing JP drains?

  1. Hi VickiRN,
I see you have peds experience and wanted to ask: from your experience, are nurses where you have worked, allowed to discontinue jackson pratt drains? I appreciate any help you can give me on this subject.

The nurses on my floor do not remove JPs or reliavacs. We don't remove staples or epidural PCAs either, something I did when I was student at another hospital!
