My question is how do you meet the criteria for JCAHO for annual restraint comptetencies for the ancillary staff, ie respiratory ,imaging and lab. We developed a Self learning packet for the nursing staff, but it may be to invoved for those who rarely deal with restraints

We developed a restraint reduction inservice which included an initial assessment of restraint use competency. To assess ongoing competency, we developed a restraint competency monitor form which is collected by designated staff through out the year on staff members. This information is reported quarterly and is filed in the individual's clinical competency folder. I would be interested learning more about your method of assessing restraint competency.
