I have seen them. I did not like them. The two I have seen leave out important factors of nursing and unfortunately, there are no other commercials to add to focus of those commercials. Thus, when one of them comes on I turn the channel in disgust.

I have friends who want to be a Nurse based on those commercials and similar media impressions but they HATE science and they are far from being independent thinkers or leaders! In fact, the idea that I get up at 3 AM to study science material makes them cringe. :uhoh3:

Why aren't there commercials like the Nursing ones for physicians? The reason is because our society, and even physicians, view doctors as SMART! So the commercials that target them are geared toward KNOWLEDGE and caring; not JUST caring.

Therefore, I prefer to see commercials that show that nurses are SMART caring leaders or SMART team players rather then some chick holding a baby. Unfortunately, I have yet to see such a commercial. Maybe it is because the powers that be think that it would scare off potential students?

If so, I do not agree. I think potential students would bang down the doors of schools to be apart of an exciting profession filled with others that are SMART and CARING. At least that is what has attracted me to choose this to be my new career. I am fortunate to be friends with SMART Nurses who are caring but who are capable of learning and growing his/her knowledge of medical science throughout his/her career. My :twocents:.

I have not seen one (too much time studying and working to watch much tv...) what are they like?
