I was arrested on September, 2016 for Driving Under Suspension in SC. I go back to nursing school in May to finish my last 2 months. However, I'm supposed to go do a background check on March, 2017. I have already done my own Sled background check and mu DUS came up. I was wondering if this will stop me from doing my clinicals at my clinical site within my nursing program.
I did speak to my Dean at the school and she said " that tsthe clinical site may deny me. Help! What can I do, is there any answers for me? I just hate to have come this far for no reason. Will Tidelands Health Georgetown in SC allow you to do your clinicals at their Hospital with a traffic misdemeanor. Who should I call to see? How will and can this outcomw be for me?
Someone anyone with this type if incident give me some insight on what to expect. In SC we can't expunge something as simple as Driving Under Suspension. This was my first time ever getting arrested.

First of all- change your screen name if that is your real name. NEVER post about legal entanglement on the internet using your real name. and yes, the facility CAN deny you. Their first duty (like the BON) is the safety of their patients and many facilities deny persons who have been arrested. It may take this working its way through the courts before it's resolved. Bitter truth - but you chose it.
The only way to find out is to wait and see I suppose.

I agree with the PP: if your username is your real name, change it pronto. AN.com is not responsible for anything resulting from you choosing to use your real name as a username. You can change the username here:

Yes, it's true that the clinical site can deny you the right to do clinicals...and there may not be much you can do about it. All you may be able to do right now is wait and let the hospital decide. Ask your school if they have any advice for you.
Also, if you don't have an attorney involved in your court case, get one involved. They can help get the charges reduced/dismissed, or if you are convicted, help minimize the damage. There's no guarantee that the attorney will get you off the hook, but it could help improve your overall outcome.
Best of luck.
