What speciality to choose to work in before exams for good general knowledge/basics

  1. I hope im in the right place to post this
I have a slight problem. In a number of months we students get to choose our end of year electives (where we wanna go to work - departments) before our BIG exams.
In 3 years i have barely had any experience as our placements were a broad range so i am concerned that i have not had enough hands on learning. In the hospital so far i have only done surgical.
I want to chose medical as first but not sure of the other 2.
Im thinking ortho and surgical as 2nd and 3rd choices but wot do u think are best to learn the most u can and have that information readily and recently available before the mind shattering exam that will make or break me?
    Any advice is appreciated.
