Career/ education advise please

  1. I graduated in May 2008 from an ADN program and obtained my license in August 2008.

I applied to so many hospitals, without luck and finally ended up working as a public health nurse in TB control.
I really enjoy the challenges and different aspects of this position and I am now trying to make plans for futher education and career progression.

Ideally I would love to continue in public health, eventually working overseas or for WHO.

Now my question is should I get a BSN in nursing then on to a MPH? Or a BS in public health then onwards from there?

I know in nursing school it was sort of drilled into us that we should get hospital experience first, am I selling myself short by not getting this? I am in my late 30's and this is a second career for me. I didn't really enjoy the hospital environment that much during clinicals.

    Any advise is welcome,

    Thks very much.
