HI,

I am a Registered nurse workin in Ireland.i had signed a contract with calgary health region through a recruiting company trillium talent resource.I have got my visa and all now to come to calgary, but now as they dont have much vacancies Im still waiting for placement.I have experience of 8 yrs in general surgery,I was wondering is it possible for me to transfer my Carna registration to vancouver BC and try and get a job placement there? Is it possible to transfer registrtion from 1 province to another easily,n how long does it take?Im really worried as the situation here is bleak.

Any good suggestions please......Could anyone please email me the study material for CRNE.thanks

You will need to apply to the province as a IEN and meet their requirement. Also regarding CRNE there is much written both in the forum and on the province college website

Because this thread is heading down the road into licensure and immigration territory it will be moved to the International forum.

There are already many threads about the CRNE, including what resources to use, how to study, what to expect and so on. If wish to learn more about Calgary and working as a nurse in Calgary, please keep this thread about that topic.

Trillium have not been very good for many of the nurses here in Calgary, it would have been better if you had not used them but that's just really for the benefit of others to come, I appreciate it's too late for you.

I guess you will just have to bide your time until the economic situation here improves. There are vacancies (97 at Foothills alone today) but many are part-time (though not all.) I'm sure you'll find something, you'll just need some patience. Calgary is a good place to be.

Again you sohuld not have to pay that kind of money for a review course. I studied the available books (you can get them mailed from Amazon & the CNA) on my own & passed 1st time.

To go on your own, as said several times in several threads before, you don't need an agency to go to Canada.

Regarding the books, didn't you get the booklets with literature info with your eligibilty letter??

There's the official study guide from CNA and several book available from amazon, as RGN1 suggested. The newest I think is lippincott. There's an online readyness test as well from CNA.
