    A Long Island cardiac surgeon performed up to 3,000 surgeries while infected with hepatitis. As a result, state officials are trying to track down the patients who may have been exposed to the potentially fatal disease while undergoing surgery at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset.

    I have a question--how could the surgeon expose the disease to patients if he were using strict asepsis in the operating room?
