Back to work with knee problems...work at home

Nurses Disabilities

Specializes in L&D, High Risk OB, Home Health.

With 30 years of nursing experience I now find myself unable to work thanks to a total knee replacement gone bad. Looking for ideas....background in high risk OB, L&D, long term care and home health. Unable to walk great distances or for long periods of time. Thought about legal nurse consulting and have looked into Vikki Milazzo Institute but so expensive....haven't been able to work for 2 yrs. Any thoughts...I really want to get back to work but working at home would probably be best. Any thoughts or suggestions....really could use your help.

Don't give up on LNC. Try another school. Kaplan is great, with great payment plan too! Also, think about screening calls for Dr.s at night. I'm looking in Shreveport. La. area....anyone know of anything? I have 33 years with a variety of acute care and long term care background.

Good luck!

take a look at your local insurance companies. many of them have nurse case management at this time and some of the postions are work at home after about a 6 month period.

I went to insurance nursing after i had a laminectomy after 4 years of being a nurse, oh course i was a EMT with a comerical ambulance service as well ( this did not help matters much)

My job sitting in a little cubicle and reviewing pts inpt request or current stays and playing policey or miliman standards to make sure that the services rendered are approprate.
