I was wondering if there are any nurse anesthetists or any nurses that have gotten a job with an explunged criminal record? Like a juvie marijuana possesion charge?
I'm 16 and in nursing school to eventually become a nurse anesthetist. I recently got arrested for a minor marijuana possesion charge (only a gram) and i'm going to get it explunged from my record through a teen diversion program. I live in florida so it should be explunged by the time i'm 24.
http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/nursing/ap_convictrecord_2010.pdf I don't think it will be a problem for me to get my liscense, but when i apply for a job should I put say yes even though it was explunged? And will HR set aside my application if I put yes and explain?
I still have at least 4 more years of schooling through an amazing opportunity but should i just stop school now and quit if i can't get a job?
Are thier any nurses out thier with criminal records?

You shud be able to expunge your record n get a job with no probes if you get in trouble before age of 25 judge will expunge for sure.I got in trouble at 30 all at once disorderly conduct. Posession of narcotics intent to deliver. Hopefully I can get this expunged so I can get my rn life back. Mean time I wanted to take my rn to bsn but I can't I have restricted liscense so anyone have any suggestion how I can continue to pursue something in nursing area like bsn or msn I have my rn liscense but I don't want to sit around for two yrs doing nothing. Any suggestions?

Consult with an attorney...however, even if you have a conviction expunged-it will not be expunged from the national data base and is still visable to a future FBI background check...so it would depend on if the CRNA program would look that far into your background...they are pretty thorough they probable will...also, you say you are in nursing school but you are 16?? that's very doubtful...how can you be sure what you even want to do?
To become an anesthetist first you must go to a nursing school, then actually practice nursing at some sort of critcal care level...to get experience, ICU mainly-sometimes ER, for usually a minimum of 2 years, then you apply to CRNA school and hope like heck you pass the background check to get in and have the grades .....they have a very high rate of drug use so the schools are very strict....it's good to have a goal..but you are eons away from worrying about CRNA school!

I am a new grad and I m going to strt looking for jobs. I have some convictions that occured 10 years ago. I hve had them expunged, although one does involve under the influence and one was recieving stolen property. These look bd but the BRN let me take the boards. I obviously made stupid mistakes as a teen and proved my rehbilitation. Now I have these expunged cases and dont know what to do. Do I say that I hve been convicted on job pps or not? One application says not to devulge past convictions/arrests if they were expunged yet the next question asks, "If you re going to be working with drugs have you ever been convicted of drug charge?".
I dont want to lie, then again if I m going to tell why did I get it expunged. I dont want to open up can of worms if I dont have to!!! Especially in a time where it is hard to find jobs!!! Please help!!! Hs anyone had an expunged record and told future employers? Has anyone not told and had the employer find out?
