List of products that do not have alcohol

Hi.

For the drug screens, other than no ingested drugs and/or alcohol, you cannot ingest or put anything on your skin that contains alcohol (with the exception of isopropyl alcohol without ethanol) or ethanol. That rules out a lot of products (hand sanitizers, body washes at Bath and Body works and most other brands, mouthwash, etc.) So, I was wanting to create a thread regarding what is okay to use.

Check out talbottcampus.com. They have a link with a large list of products. Good luck.

I look at everything I use to make sure there's no alcohol. If the soap says perfume but doesn't list the ingredients, can I use it? I have found products that there's nothing with alcohol or ethanol listed but it says "perfume". Do I have to worry about that? I have not found any soap that does not have that in it.

Dove for sensitive skin is a soap that apparently has no perfumes in it. I had no clue that should you use skin products that contain alcohol it could test one positive. Good to know.

I would definetely look at any sensitive skin care line, in natural food stores, and perhaps the infant line of skin care/shampoo products.

ACT has as well as Cepecol no alcohol mouth washes.

This is something new I have learned today. Thank you for that, and best of luck to you in your recovery!!

yeah, this is what makes this such a pain. If it contains alcohol (hand sanitizer, mouthwash, etc.) or if it contains ethanol (a lot of soap and salon quality hair products and face washes have some form of ethanol in it).

Right now, I am literally using baby shampoo and Caress beauty soap bar and that's it. I have found the spray deodorants don't have ethanol in them and Colgate tooth paste is what I am using for toothpaste. All these products say "perfume" though, and I don't know what's in the "perfume" part. Conditioners have alcohol and such in it, so I think I might try something like olive oil mask over my hair to help soften it and make it not dry.

Just relax about all of the products. I just passed an etg used bath and body works the night before, spray perfume on myself all the time and have not changed my diet. I also use the better hair products although not for long cus i'm very poor. I have cut out mouthwash and handsanitizer. I also miss the rum cake but don't want to chance it. I don't think the etoh is absorbed thru the skin but inhalation when applied. I don't know if this help calm your fears.

I think the fear can get a little out of hand. I have been tested for ETOH and ETG with every screen for the last 3 years and have never had an issue. I just don't consume alcohol or use mouthwash with alcohol. I still use the same soaps, body sprays, perfumes, deodorants, toothpaste, etc., I also use alcohol hand sanitizers frequently and LOTS of hairspray. I also color my hair. I still use the same household cleaning supplies and detergents. If I inadvertantly inhale vapors I don't worry about it. The tests do allow for a certain amount of incidental exposure. I also haven't changed my diet, but I never did eat foods that I knew had alcohol in them or were prepared in alcohol....just because I never liked alcohol in my food. I used to fret over the ETG thing, but decided I'm in recovery, I'm not drinking and I'm not going to spend my time worrying about my drug screens and everything has been fine.

Shew. That makes me feel slightly better. We shall see as I was tested yesterday and I think I have had incidental exposure. I have been sober for almost 6 months.
