Just venting

  1. So, here we are in the holiday season. I know the wheels of any state agency will be slow turning from here until after the New Year.

I have been awaiting a response to my application for re-issuance (AZ) since July. I am aware it takes a bit, and really, just wanted to vent. Each time I check the mail box, I hope for a letter/correspondence from the BON.

I should be excited to get holiday cards from friends and loved ones, instead of feeling disappointed.

Okay, I will get off the pity pot, just wanted to vent for a minute.

Hope you all are enjoying the upcoming holidays!

Even tho I am not big on the holidays thing, I still find it rough when I am invited to parties and get together where I know alcohol will be served (keeping in mind that I've never been a drinker or user of anything) I know nobody probably even cares that I don't drink or anything, by like church when it comes time in the service for communion, in my Episocopal church is every service, I decline the wine. Even tho it's just a little sip, I am terrified that it will trigger a positive. Why is the program invading that far into my private life? In church, should I not be mindful of other things besides IPN? How is this relevant to my practice in nursing. For a nonalcoholic how is small sip of wine going to do anything?
Honestly I am past where the holiday represented any sort of joy for me. This program has caused family divisions that are unlikely to heal, financial difficulties that make gift exchange really hard. Now my aforementioned dslike for partie/get togethers is exponentially worse.

First of all happy holidays and here's a prayer that those callous idiots get back to you soon. Here at the beginning of the process and apparently the end a long period can go by before the monitoring programs do anything at all. I was evaluated and placed in rehab in October of last year. I was officially "accepted" into the monitoring program in March of this year. Between October and March I was subject to jumping through no end of hoops and requirements I wanted no part of but apparently that time didn't count towards my three year program as my file sat on somebody's desk collecting dust for six months awaiting a signature. Similarly when your three years (or 3 1/2 in my case) years are up you have to ask to be released (like anybody would want to stay) from monitoring. This can take another number of weeks to get done. In short the three year program is a lot like a four year program. Is this because they are messing with us or just stink at their jobs? Who knows!!! This I know though, these idiots have taken much from many so don't let them ruin the holidays for you and yours!!!

    What?!? That is terrible!

We are expected to jump through every hoop, and to not complain in the process, but, they can take their own sweet time with something that important?

I knew I was going to have a wait, but, the one, and only, phone call I have received, was the investigator telling me not to expect any answers in the time frames they have set forth in their rules & regs (and clearly stated on their website). He did tell me it may take up to a year longer. UGH!

I wish you the best and thanks for your support.

By the way, hands down, BEST NAME ON THIS SITE-- SPANKED!

    Cats,

I am so sorry this has caused so much tension. It is not fair. I have read several of your posts and it really seems like this was not the correct program for you. I am wishing you the best.
