I'm in need of pointers and how I should present myself in this interview tomorrow! It's a private practice so I'll be meeting with the doctor who will be the one who decides. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Soooo.......how did it go?

Waiting on them to call me back, feels like I've been blown off. Im trying to just keep focused on other things and if they call, they call. If not there will be others!

Have you applied LTC, that was an ideal set up, enviroment for me to work thru my stipulations...... especially if you learn about MDS which is an assessment that every resident needs, requires several times a year......usually a M-F day time position

:-)

I have not tried for LTC yet, I have read about MDS but so many want exp or certification and I don't have either :( I'm not giving up hope, it will happen!!

you can order current MDS books on amazon.com... you could tell LTC you are studying, mds, most facilities will train you :

Thanks for the tip! Ill check it out, might be another avenue to pursue. :)

Specializes in LTC, Management, MDS Nurse, Rehab.

I do MDS along with other stuff....I don't have special certification nor did I have experience.

So I was called back today by the Peds office, I got the usual..."You're very qualified, we would love to have you...BUT..." So my restrictions got me again and I think I have finally hit my breaking point. I want to cry, I'm so tired of not being enough for anyone. I know there will be more options, and this is not yet my path, but I'm so tired of always coming up short right now.

It's get hard and no matter what all of us may say, you're going to feel down until you heal on your own. However, like I said my last post it might not come over night but all you need is one person to say yes. After your restrictions are lifted, it's fair game. Stick in there. Work a great program and once one door opens, others will follow.
