The Nurse-patient relationship includes quality time. Our Physician colleagues depend upon us as we monitor the patient response to specific treatments, drugs, and plans of care. Taking care of the patient involves a team-based approach which includes Nurses, Physicians, social workers, CNAs, and out-patient therapists, to name a few. Many Physicians will ask the Nurse their opinion on the status of the patient. Nurses are an all-important partner in the Nurse-Physician healthcare team.

I've actually had a patient say this. She asked me to be in the room when the physician was there to help answer questions from both sides.
