just wondering how much you've paid them. you know that you can do the processing yourself, don't you?

And in order to work legally you need a visa.Due to retrogression you are looking at several years wait.

Kind of wonder what services you will be getting from them as there haven't been jobs for overseas nurses since retrogression started in 2006. Make certain that you are not being taken advantage of. And do some reading in this forum. The entire process has been explained in great detail. You can do it yourself and save money.

what do u mean by nclex training? is it like a review class?
Hi guys
Yes its an on online review course they have 90% pass rate. We paid £395 which includes the online review NCLEX, assistance with licensing and 3 job offers. Up to now they have done what they said they would with forwarding paperwork and things. They seem to think that in theory yes it can take a while to receive green card but in practice its a lot sooner like roughly 2 1/2 years maybe 3.

Look at a bit longer than 3 years to get a GC. Retrogression has been ongoing since Oct 06 and I have seen some members post where they have a PD of 2005 and still waiting for a GC. Yes things may change but with current US unemployment at a high and many US nurses struggling for work do not expect it to clear sooner.
I would say think long and if it does move quickly then it is a bonus
Thanks for the advice. Do you think that this sounds legitamate and like a fair deal. I'd hate to be 'ripped off' and have to start all over again?
I have heard of them but do not know a lot about them.
What I will say about NCLEX is think as a new grad and not someone with experience. It is a lot harder for a International nurse to pass NCLEX I think average pass rate for International is about 40%. Practice practice answering questions and read the rationales (even if you get it right) I found Saunders comprehensive the best book for me (I took it 3 times, passed on third attempt) and tried to get used to how the questions work

Read the fine print of the nurses4america contract, find out what will happen to your paperwork if the agency goes out of business before it is processed.
I think nurses contemplating using an agency need to be aware of these facts;
agencies cannot expedite the immigration process
agencies cannot ensure positive outcomes with licensing boards or exams
agencies cannot assure employment in North American hospitals

At the end of the day it's retrogression that's the issue. Back in 2006 (just as retrogression started to be talked of) I began the US process through Adevia. They did not ask me to part with cash they just facilitated the job offers and helped with the paperwork, In fact they were really quite helpful at the time.
To cut a long story short I passed N-CLEX 1st time, got a job offer, had my I-140 approved and a PD date of July 2007. I'm still 2.5 yrs behind the current processing dates!! Interestingly I found out that the hospital hasn't cancelled my job offer yet - but that's probably because they've forgotten it!
Anyway, in late 2007 I decided to look to Canada and 8 months from applying was starting my job in Alberta. Now I have permanent residency and will be eligible for Citizenship in 2012 -probably before my US PD date even comes up!
I will not be going to the USA now because my eldest is 18 & can't come on my US Green card anymore (should it ever be granted!)
