Dear wonderful nurses,
I graduated this may and was blessed to get a job a few months later. I am however working the weekend shift and a single mom to a toddler. The problem I am having is finding good reliable day care on the weekends. I have tried in home daycares and am not very pleased with them. What have you single moms with kids out there done when working unusual shifts eg. nights, weekends. I am new to the area and barely know anyone. Also, my job offers only 12 hr shifts so even if i work during the week, the daycares are not open till am done with work. Please help. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me. thanks

Are there any week day co-workers who have kids? Could you trade off with you watching one of their kids one day, and another's kid on another day- they leave your child with them- each taking one weekend day; this would leave one weekend day for them that they didn't have an extra child...??? Just an idea :)

I have seen posts at my school for people looking for babysitters. Nursing students make great babysitters :-) ... they're already background checked, know first aid/CPR, and would love a great reference/connection with a working nurse.
