Nurse Visit Cost insulin tx

Published

I'm LVN licensed and found an add looking for a LVN who can do house visit, Assisted Living house 6 bed, for insulin tx. The facility is just starting this service and is asking how much I should charge per house visit or injection. Please advise any opinions or experience.

Unless you carry your own , this is a dangerous pursuit. They need to go thru a home health agency for this.

If you want to pursue this, who will be paying you? Will you be an employee of the facility, or a contractor? These are important questions to ask.

You need to know these answers first.

In-house employee? Will there be a chart somewhere? Clock in and out? Maybe 16 - 20 bucks as hour/visit.

Contractor? Pay all your own taxes? 30-35/hr.

Big difference. I still say they should go thru an agency.

Wow I can see I'm a rookie to this. Not sure if they will hire me as an employee or if that is their intent, I will ask these questions. I do not have and did not think about the risks involved either! thank you for the heads up.

I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas. Most home health agencies will pay an LVN between $25 and $30 per visit to go to clients' homes and perform finger stick blood sugars and insulin injections.

These people probably do not want to use an agency because they are trying to save money. They would have to pay the agency about $50 hourly, and the agency would pay you between $25 and $30 hourly. If they bypass the agency and use you alone, they would be saving some serious cash.

I would NOT touch it!

that bad huh?

Most of the clients in ALF's are over 65, and may be eligible for home health care if ordered by a physician. This would not come out of their budget. However, I don't know at what point the client slides from assisted-living to long-term care.

This is more complex than meets your eye. And as I said before, not without your own .

I suppose it is more than meets my eye. Would it be as simple as just having ? Sounds like there is still more risk that ought weighs benefit..
