New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

World Registration

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Oh, best wishes to you cheska! You can send off your passport to the nearest VIA centre near you. But if you are departing this weekend then there would be no time for the stamping.

hello! if i may ask, what specific visa stamping do we need to have in our passport? isn't it the embassy gets to place the visa already on the passport pages? :) thanks!

Hi! Sorry wasn't able to notice my full inbox. Hehe. Anyway, my class in ACFE will start on june 25. I'm leaving the country on the 19th. A bit early coz I have to visit my aunt in Sydney first. I'll be in Melbourne by the 22nd. I did the processing of everything by myself. Just did a lot of research, and of course with the help of this forum :)

Tuition fee at ACFE is AUD 12,500. I don't know any Filipino friends who are on the same batch as me, which is why I'm a little scared. Haha.

As for the accommodation, I will be living in the graduate house of the Univ of Melbourne. A relative of mine recommended the place :)

hi noelle 18! congrats to you, you'll be leaving sooo sooon =D hey dear, just a question. may i have the contact person of Univ of Melbourne or the complete address of this? would you also know how much is their rental of their place for overseas students like us? thank you thanks =D

@grasyosa, dear, where will you be staying in melbourne? would you know of any accommodation near IHNA? :) thanks thanks :)

Thanks :) here's their website: graduatehouse.com.au. You can find their contact numbers and email addresses there :) the rental fee depends on the type of room you're having. In my case I have a single bedroom with private bath, it costs AUD 385 per week, inclusive of daily breakfast and 5 dinners per week except weekends. There are cheaper rates too, like if you choose to have a shared bathroom. Anyway, it's all on the website :)

The October session of IHNA has been preponed to 24th September 2012. IHNA mailed me saying this and also assured for further update but havent heard anything from then since. Anyone for the same intake? I'm growing suspicious, what if they completely cancel the intake I'm supposed to study? Have already paid the enrolment fee and e-learning fee. I haven't found anyone going for the same intake. Am I the single candidate here who chose the "doubtful" October session?
:confused::banghead:

why not request to go into earlier ones preferrably August and September intake to be sure. we are all on a budget but better go for the ones with safe lights (accredited ones)..its life..hehe we can't choose if we are on a budget we have to fit in. i actually don't know if my pocket money is enough for the 3 months stay for food. i don't even know where to live in Perth but after the accreditation issue we should as much as possible go for August and September intakes while there is no news they will extended till when. just for you to be safe.

Hi, ilove83080. Please share the prices of serology test. Thanks! Hope you dont mind.

yuki are you first of all filipino?? or japanese? the price for japan's serology are more expensive.

we have no DPT, Varicella and MMR serology in Davao but if you want Hepatitis Serology- there are two kinds quantitative and qualitative. one is for your hepa b titer measuring your defense to hep b and the other one to check if you are positive or negative.

i did mine in Southern Philippines Medical Center cos i work there before. their price is:

HBsAg (Qualitative) 220 pesos

Hepatitis-Anti-HBs 500 pesos

if you want to know MRSA Screening it is 810 pesos

A blessed day to everyone! I was searching for some information on how to apply/migrate to Australia, and I stumbled here. Have to be honest here, I can't read the 948 pages. hehe:)

I was also browsing that this thread was created 2 years ago. Just want to ask if there are "new" process changes.

Just want to ask you guys, especially those who have started or finished processing their papers late 2011 or early 2012 on the steps of processing. I know there are agencies like Phil-Man, but what about if you just want to process things on your own?

e.g. Step 1: Prepare these docs,

Step 2: Go to this, contact that.

Thank you very much in advance! God bless everyone!

Can somebody answer directly/provide the link that could answer how i could work/migrate as a nurse in Australia on your own? (processing without the aid of agencies like Phil-Man)

Thank you very much in advance! God bless everyone!

You need to invest a bit of time by reading posts here preferably from Sept 2011 onwards as changes have happened prior to that date. Start by going to the AHPRA website and print the application form. It should tell you what requirements you will need.

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Internationally Qualified Nurses and Midwives

everything starts there. first, have an ielts of all 7 or up.

download the form for registration of international nurses and answer it then submit all the requirements, then ask questions here.

wait for letter of elibibility before enrolling in a BP school, apply for visa, immunizations, medicals, tickets, go to Australia.

i might not be able to help you with updated info cos i applied early 2011 and there maybe changes to the application process etc.
