Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

World Registration

Published

Hi there sbeattrix,

I had my interview earlier this morning. It was quite ok. I was nervous the whole time. I really do not know what to think right now. Anyway, that interview was for the May 13 intake. I was emailed by the coordinator last Feb 6 that the deadline of submission of application was Feb 10. I sent my docs via email last Feb 8 and paid the assessment fee through credit card. The questions I was asked about were first, my work experience. Other questions were about my personality: strengths and weaknesses. Lastly, there were also questions regarding clinical setting and nursing interventions about a particular scenario.

The outcome of the interview will be emailed on Monday. I am really hoping that I pass and get a slot for that intake as my LOE will expire on July 16.

Did you also apply at Mercy Health?

wow. i hope and pray you do get it. I sent my application on feb 12....i wish i could've sent it earlier if i could qualify for may....gosh....i do hope there would still be slots for may for me too.

when you sent your application...did they advise you to wait for 14 days for the feedback?today is my 14th day....and i am awaiting for their response.

where did you lodge your eligibility? vic?

Hi sbeattrix,

When I sent my application, the coordinator emailed me after 3 days of my date of interview. I lodged my eligibility at AHPRA WA.

hi! i would just like to ask some questions about the medicals

- did you print the forms 25 and 150 before going to the center?

- what else did you bring along with you for the medicals?

- do we still need an appointment before going for it?

- where did you do your medicals?

thanks much! i highly appreciate if you respond to this query

Hi!

Anyone please enlighten me this one from my letter of eligibility

"Under the National Law, the Board has up to 90 days to consider an application. On this occasion, the Board proposes to extend the period of considering your application past the 90 days to allow you time to meet outstanding requirements. The period of consideration is now extended to 21 August 2013 and unless you advise the Board, in writing, within 14 days of the date of this letter, it will be taken that you agree with the extension. It should be noted if the consideration if the consideration time is not extended and the 90-day period expires prior to the Board making a decision, in accordance with s85 of the National Law it will be taken to be a decision to refuse to register."

Please correct me if I'm wrong, my eligibility will expire in NOvember not August? Please I really need your comment about this one. Thanks for the help guys!

Yes you need to print the form and fill them out as well.

Bring passport size photos with white background and if your passport is with you, bring it.

If your passport is in the embassy with your application, bring a copy of the bio page..

Bring a valid i.d.

No need for an appointment, just go there directly.

I had my medicals at nationwide makati. Im not sure if its the same with st.lukes.

3. Has anyone been in a similar situation where they submitted their requirements months before sending the others?

Thanks again :-)

You have to send them altogether

LOE is valid for 1 year only

My LOE is 2 years, but if its 1 yr now thats really hard...

Hi everyone! :-) i know this question have been asked soooo many times. There's been about a thousand pages of the previous thread but my eyes are hurting from all the reading and I haven't even come close to anything that could answer my questions which are the ff:

1. Can I submit my IELTS, TOR, and Certificate of Good standing to AHPRA first? then the other requirements such as the completed application form in say 5-6 mos time?

2. I also would like to clarify if overseas trained nurses wanting to do a bridging program should fill up the AGOS-40 form?

Thank you so much for your help.

June

Yes, fill out the form AGOS-40 and you can find all the instructions at the form also.

Yes, i have tried that also, sent my prc requirements first and it took me 5 months to send my personal documents including the form.

which ahpra did you apply with and when did you apply? you getting a 2 years validity would be such a blessed one..

I applied at AHPRA perth, WA last july2011 and i got my LOE sept2011. The school part really did took a lot of my time plus my IELTS exam, so by the time I already had my intake my LOE is expiring so i humbly asked for an extension and it was granted also. I told them that I do not want to start from the very beginning and all the time spent gathering my documents will be put to waste, all the sacrifices of my family gathering my papers will be in vain because I was not working in the philippines back then, but I know they deliberate all the applicants asking for extension, my friend also helped me on how to put that all into writing because I know i will only have one shot.
