Licensure by Endorsement in CA using CGFNS CES

Has any IEN here successfully attained their RN license through licensure by endorsement in CA using their CGFNS CES report?

I'm not sure if this has already been asked. I've been browsing the related threads but can't seem to find any answer. If there already is a thread/post, it would be highly appreciated if you could point me to the right direction. :)

I am well aware of the concurrency issues in CA. I am also not oblivious to the fact that even if you try to gain licensure by endorsement, the same requirements would be asked of the applicant regardless of licensure status and work experience in other states. However, upon reading the CABON application form for licensure by endorsement, it was mentioned there that they accept CGFNS CES reports (including transcripts, theoretical and clinical records, etc.).

In my understanding, it means that the applicant no longer needs to request these records from his/her university. And the university in turn, would not need to send the records to CABON. The end-point being, that CABON will recognize that the applicant's education is at par with CA's standards. Or does CABON still require the record of cases, clinical rotations, etc., despite the fact that the CES already declared the applicant's education at par with US standards?

If anyone experienced this (either successfully or not) would you kindly share your experience with us? Thanks in advance! :)

Hi iely. Im a NCLEX passer of New Mexico and also underwent CES. Then around 2 months ago I applied to CA under endosement (Im living in CA btw) and submitted my application together with the CES report (that was forwarded to CA BON by CGFNS which I paid). After a month I got a letter from the CA BON sadly asking for additional requirements. What's worse is that they even asked for my transcript to be sent by my school which was already covered by my CES report on CGFNS.

I hope that this helps. The final decision will still be made by the CA BON.

Hmmm... If that's the case, the way I see it is that it might be better not to submit the CES report (since it will be $210 down the drain). Instead, the applicant should just send the school requirements in the hope that one would be deemed eligible by CA BON...

Thanks for the info Theking04! :) Good luck with your career! :)

If you dont have a previous CES report then just submit the requirements that they are asking. In my case, I already have a CES report because it is required when applying to New Mexico.

I'm also sure that with the request of the transcripts with any previous outside examination, the CA evaluators are looking for any differences between what was submitted to the outside examiners versus actual school records, due to the known Recto documents that being found in the applicants from the Phils.

Which I think is one of the "triggers" that sparked the CA BON research and then somewhere along the way, they found the problem with the concurrency issue.

You can still try to apply for the endorsement and as you stated, you recognized that it's a gamble of your hard earned money, but you never know and may get lucky. Good luck!

Btw, what happened with your application? Did you submit the additional requirements? :)

Thanks for the links, steppybay! :) I see that you're very knowledgeable about this matter. I've been reading a lot of threads here and you name almost always pops up. :p Thanks for always lending a helping hand! :)

What about you? What did you do? Are you now licensed in a different state or are you currently applying with one?

Hi Theking, how is your rn endorsement to CA,cgfns has my transcript and ces already,I also need to apply for the rn license in CA,can I ask cgfns to send my transcript and ces to CA Bon instead of asking my university to send them to the Bon?I am in US now, everything would be easier for me if CA bon can accept the documents from cgfns.thanks.
