International Graduates that are successful in applying and taking the NCLEX.

World Registration

Hello everyone!

I wanted to hear the stories of international grads who had the success of getting their ATT from different states.

We know that some states are not as open as other states with international graduates. Mostly due to lack of hours, theories and cases issues.

NRSKarenRN posted: These are states having concerns over concurrent therory and practicum, so I would look at other 37 states to obtain license:

Alabama

Arizona

California

Georgia

Illinois

Kansas

Louisiana

Maryland

North Dakota

Oklahoma

Vermont

Virginia

Washington

If there are international graduates who have had the success in acquiring an ATT and taking the exam please share your story. I believe that a majority of us need a shed of light and regain some hope.

Hi Diel08! I am planning to take my NCLEX also this year and have choosen Hawaii to apply for the exam but my problem is that I dont have Social Security Number and I think BON State of Hawaii requires it. Is it possible that I can still be accepted for the exam even though I dont have it?

If its a requirement and you don't have it, you will not be able to sit for the boards for that state

I recently took and passed the Nclex! 😁 The only review materials that I used are:

1. Saunders Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN 6th Edition (Green Color) & Saunders Comprehensive Review 5th Edition (Yellow) . ( I bought these at C&E Publishing, Philippines)

2. Lippincott Manual of Nursing Practice Ninth Edition

3. Please read the Detailed and Summarized Nclex 2016 testplan, all the topics you need to cover are all in there..

Additionally, I practiced 100-200 questions everyday from the Saunders Q&A, it has over 6,000 nurse practice questions.

Do not forget , 3p's Practice, Persistence and Prayer. Give yourself a timeout and a dayoff (weekends, whichever you prefer.) Have faith and you will surely Pass! 😁 😛

Hi there everyone i have question cause me and my gf plan to take the nclex at Hawaii..I'm a US citizen in Hawaii and we planned to take it there..but i've read about the BON of Hawaii is requiring a SSN..since im already a US citizen i already have my SSN but my gf doesn't have one and i plan to bring her to Hawaii after taking the exam..is there any suggestions/recommendations as to what is needed..like does she need to apply for a working visa in order to get one or idk...hoping for any feedback

Why doesn't she have a SSN? If she's your fiance you can sponsor her and she can apply for a fiance visa then she can have a SSN otherwise she needs to be sponsored by an entity in HI for her to get a working visa.

Hi sakygen! Thanks and how long does she have to wait before applying for a SSN or can she apply once shes there?

I believe you have to be physically present when you apply for a SSN at thr social security office. Best of luck to both of you.

Thanks sakygen!! :)

hi Diel08 was wondering what about to your NCLEx application in hawaii...im currently looking into applying there too...just like other foreign graduates i tried to apply in bon cali but was rejected...if ever im eligible for nclex in hawaii is there available jobs in hawaii?

hi sakygen im also from batch 2011 and im planning to apply in nevada...do you have any advice on what i should do? im currently waiting for my CES report from cgfns...hope u would reply thank you im worried i might get rejected too..... :(

Hi everyone, i have another question..I have a friend in the Philippines who wants to take the NCLEX in hawaii..do you need to have a local license and be a citizen or is not a requirement?

Hi kuya fern remember me? I was going to appply in nevada but then i changed my mind when I saw the requirements in Hawaii State Board of Nursing. They only require a ces report from cgfns and an application form filled out which us just 1 page plus $40 fee. My sister and I both applied in Hawaii she applied first because het ces report was done on august 8 she then turned in her application august 15 and it was received by hawaii on the 20th. Yesterday she received her approval from Hawaii and then registered in pearsonvue. She then got her Att today.I might say Hawaii is pretty fast and not strict at all you might wanna check their website if you want to. Hope this helps!

-hello! I'm also planning to apply in Hawaii this year and I don't have any idea how to start. I live in California btw. And my file/application got rejected/denied last 2011 or 2013, I think. And I was going to apply again but it's expensive now! I'm gonna try nevada as well but my friend told me Hawaii is easier. So yea.. if you could help me with the process.. please reply..hehe :) thank you.
