Endorsing from NYC to NC foreign graduate

World Registration

Published

Hi, I just got RN license from NYC graduated from NEPAL. While endorsing to NC, they have asked for CES from CGFNS. I had completed CVS while applying in NYC which validate my credentials and license from back home. When calling NC BON, the response I got was I would not receive my Temporary License until I submit the CES from CGFNS which takes couple months to verify. Now I am still waiting on temp. Any ideas?

CVS is just a collection of paperwork and is a requirement as you know by NY BON. CGFNS should be able to reuse paperwork for CES report

That's what I thought too. I reached out to CGFNS to provide NC BON with evaluation paperwork. They replied that I need to start the CES process from scratch, and cannot reuse the paperwork collected earlier. Collecting the paperwork from College back home is time consuming process. Also I had few other friends going through the same endorsement process(foreign graduates) and they were not asked for any CES paperwork. I'm surprised why I'm being asked for.

Did they go with the same state? How long ago did you do cvs?

CVS was done for NYC. took me almost a year to complete. That's why I'm worried if CES for NC takes longer than few months, I feel like I would be just wasting my time.

But what year did you do cvs? If more than 5 years then that may be the reason for having to start from scratch

It was done in 2017. Not sure if they are going to reuse some of the previous paperwork.

I see no reason that they cannot reuse the paperwork if only done last year

NYC state uses CVS, all the other states use CES report, and yes, unfortunately you have to start over, bc you send your paperwork to your school for CES REPORT, while for NYC CGFNS sends it to them. And it's sooo annoying, you have to wait again and again.
