I graduated BSN in the Philippines 2007 After taking the exam 2x they re-evaluate my application and found out that i did not qualify to take the exam. I found out that my cases did not meet there requirements.

1st question: Do you think i can still be eligible to apply to another state like florida?

2nd question: Can i apply for LVN?

Please. Any advice????

Thanks.

@ retetestis... yup. thats it. you'd have to send them a copy of your RLE book, and cases. whats up? haha! i did that. they told me i dont meet the minimum requirements for MS and OB... due to concurrency issues. same explanation theyve given to a couple other internationally educated nurses. so, the next step for us is to comply and go back to school for the deficiencies. or apply in other states.

@nursewholikesnursing

wow! From what I've read, they based it from the schedule of our theory(class) and clinical rotation, that after we attend the theory class, we must be exposed to the same field on our next clinical rotation. Is that what the BRN is requiring us?If that's the case, then anyone I know who is a BSN graduate from the Phil will have to repeat their classes! From my opinion, this is really insane. And first of all, the BRN should have posted this kind of requirement beforehand while we are applying for the NCLEX so we will know what to expect.

So what did you do??also thanks for the reply

yeah... 99 percent of us. haha! the brn supposedly makes changes yearly without prior notice. i dont know. but, the outlook is gloomy for us who are foreign graduates. what im doing right now... a lot of research about what everyone else who is in the same predicament is doing. haha! and yeah, what they mean by concurrency is that you have to finish both clinical and theory at the same time... the thing is we did take them concurrently but clinicals are pretty hard for us to complete along with theory cause of lack of patients, or too much students. or just... plain unlucky. lol thus, our fate. right now, im also looking into going back to school... which according to my calculations is going to cost me real big money. so... umm. yeah, good luck to us. :)

theres this idea though that you can try... another poster here mentioned it... she asked if anyone has tried contacting their schools and have them explain to the CABON the reason our clinical and theory are not concurrent. it might work. lol

Yeah, i also read that post but I lost track of it. Do you know the name of the poster?Yes, that might work, hopefully. I also have an idea. Someone told me, I can contact my school and make them switch the clinical rotations according to the theory class, then for formality, let someone have the clinical instructors sign the form. But I already mailed mine. =/

And from what I've read here, others are having a hard time looking for schools which only offer classes of their deficiency (OB and MS).

Do you think that is ethical? Falsifying a record is illegal.

Yes. Sorry for that. Should not have thought about it. Don't do it, it's unethical. Don't take the risk. Let's just comply to their new requirement.

yeah.. lol thats the reason were in this mess in the first place lol... those people who subscribe to short cuts. giving us honest ones a bad rep. pfft. really frustrating.

but that other posters suggestion... has anyone actually tried that? hm... i might try it if none of you are willing. lol it will only take a phone call. try it people. and then update! ;)

@stacey, why you dont try the NCLEX- PN im sure you can pass that exam. Im LVN but im RN too in phil. the concept almost the same in NCLEX-RN but NCLEX- LVN more on basic type which is easier..

@erick_17 : hi erick... i am also in the same dilemma with the rest of our kababayan's here...im still in the process of completing my other additional requirements as requested by CA BON for my Nclex-rn exam and im not quite sure what will be the outcome and am thinking right now about Nclex-LVN...hope you dont mind asking me of their requirements and the processing time...thanks a lot..
