CVS-NY missing request

World Registration

Published

Good day. I'm starting to get worried about my CVS-NY application. Its either CGFNS is sending the request to a wrong address, or things keep getting lost in the mail, or my school is not processing the transcript request from CGFNS, or somebody stole the money and the mail that CGFNS sent. Please keep me from being too paranoid. I sent my CVS application September 22, 2009. The request for license was received by Professional Regulation Commission here in the Philippines and was processed and the license was received by CGFNS a week ago. I called my school (both the registrar and the college) regarding the request for transcript by CGFNS and they told me that they have not received any request. I called CGFNS and they told me that they sent the request twice already. Nobody wants to help - I mean, CGFNS just says "we sent it. I cant tell you more information that that"; the school just says "we did not receive any request. sorry." What should I do?

If the last request is sent after a period of 6 months, and CGFNS did not receive anything from my school, what would they tell NY-BON?

Do correct me if Im wrong, but I feel disappointed about CGFNS service. I pay a large amount of money for the service, make sure every address every number every letter is correct in the application and when things get lost, all they could say is "we sent it. NO additional information. and you're not even supposed to be involved in this". but I SHOULD be involved in this, this is my money, my documents, my school, my license, my future. If they could just give me their word that theyd trace it (I mean they can trace the mail - tracking number, courier service, cheque number) prior to submitting their report to NY-BON, I could seat back and relax.

to xxjjccbb : sorry for not replying to your pms (i cannot send pms yet because i have few posts :( ) anyways...what i did was i filled in the authorization letters for the verification (for the tor and for the prc license) then sent it to cgfns (because that's what i understood when i read the handbook >_ ) what confuses me is because chokyali said that he/she paid the school, so does that mean we really have to go to our schools for them to process it? i thought that everything is between cgfns and our schools/prc

@chokyali: yes i applied online. ooh...so i have to send my school the authorization letter too? does that mean i have to print a new one again (the one i sent to cgfns)? then i'll just ask a form from school right? (sorry for the confusion)

really sorry for the confusion :( but i am really thankful for everyone's reply

@kristov: yes that's exactly what i did too.. my online status says waiting for required documents.. i dont know if they have sent out the requests to my school and to PRC.. do we receive notification for that? i am well aware that the processing time for CVS is about 6-8 months (accdg to the posts i read here).. and with my order just started last december, i know i still have to wait for a long time.. i am just concerened because i already submitted my application to NY BON  i know now that i should have waited a couple of months at least before i passed my application to them but i already did.. i just hope my application would not go missing by the time CVS is already complete.. hehehe.. i was also amazed at how chokyali did it.. if i knew that could be done, i would have done it that way. at least we know that the TOR and license have already been sent to CGFNS.. let's update each other abt our orders, if its ok with u.. goodluck to us..:heartbeat

The letter of CGFNS to your school is lost in the mail. That happened to my friend. The company will send another request to your school, don't worry.

With the PRC, you should not have any problems. They will receive it and send it on their own. They know about CVS-NY very well. I just suggest you contact the person in change in PRC, so you can know if they have received/sent it.

With your school, I suggest you do the same. Contact the person in charge and ask for developments. Technically, the school should be the one to send the TOR and you shouldn't be sending it yourself.

Sharing my experience.

I applied to NY Board of nursing on November 2007. I got my ATT on June 2008. I took the exam on June 2008 also. It took me 7 months or so. At that time I thought my application process was already long! (I kept comparing to california applicants)

Please note that CGFNS is a big company but understaffed.

Individual responses:

@xxjjccbb Don't worry about NY BON loosing your application. Once they received it, it's valid for a year. If you sent your application through registered mail, there is less chance of it getting lost. I sent my application to NY BON the same month I applied for online CVS.

@Kristov No. You don't have to send another authorization letter to your school. You shouldn't order a TOR from your school. It should be CGFNS ordering from your school in your behalf. What chokyali did was not the "normal" CVS application.

@ Kristov I just want to clarify something , I did not pay the school, That payment I made was for the postal service for my TOR to send it to CGFNS:uhoh3:

:yeah:There's nothing wrong with what I did, I just requested for my TOR with the verification form for transcripts that we fill up then send it to CG then CG will send it to our respective schools . (FYI I did not apply online ) I did that because maybe we have same experiences, lost in the mail or the school did not bother to respond.I may have sent it personally but that was accrdg. to the registrar personnel's instruction. It was legal The envelope was sealed with the school's logo and if ever that was not normal CGFNS should have informed me. :)

By the way, I mailed it in the school's post office not outside, I'm sure CG will not accept it.

okei thanks for clarifying that then

@jpsan pedro: oh no, i hope mine did not get lost in the mail. I'll contact my school again and ask if they received my forms already. I need to know how to contact PRC though >_

@xxjjccbb : thanks much for the replies. Yeah let's update each other :) we applied almost at the same time so yah...I hope we get through with this haha. Oh you applied already to NY BON...that i have to do next month i guess (I don't have the money yet to pay for the NY BON application huhu) God Bless to us! :)

no, i'm stiil here waiting for my visa besides CVS approval is not the ticket in going to NY...it's retrogression remember...what is your priority date?

there's no problem with PRC...

@chokyali. I just thought you were the one who gave the authorization letter to the school. My bad.

@Kristov Yup, I am done with my CVS and exam. I have my NY license already.

You can go to PRC and ask who is assigned with CVS. That's what I did.

Chokyali is right. The working visa is the ticket in working in NY. They are currently processing 2002 or 2003.

thanks for all the info.. i was just wondering if cgfns will send me a notification when they send the request for transcript to my school and to PRC? or will i just get an update when my school and PRC documents are received by cgfns?

also, if anyone has an idea if NY BON issues a temporary permit? i read in the websie that they issue permits to applicants who havent sit on the NCLEX yet.. so clearly i am not eligible for that.. is there any temporary license for those who are endorsing their license?

hey everyone i also received an email saying i need to send CGFNS TRANSCRIPT VALIDATION FORM? what's that? and my CES for Vermont status says that my TRANSCRIPT HAS BEEN RECEIVED BUT NOT ACCEPTED. what should i do? pls help tnx!

Hi, did you send the TOR yourself or from school? because if it came from you , they will definitely not accept it.

hi mistydawn i feel ur agony. Ihope those CGFNS customer agents are more accomodating, we paid for like hundreds of dollars and they don't disclose information to us. we're supposed to be oriented well regarding the services we ordered to them.

I once called them because my TOR states that they have RECEIVED IT BUT NOT ACCEPTED of course i was worried bec i dont want my 300plus dollars to go to waste and the agent just told me that i need to wait for their mail he even told me that i dont have grades on 3subjs and i was like asking how about that? what can i do about it? he didn't even bother to give me options and he even sounded bossy. grrr. im disappointed. :(
