I know that several foreign countries are not eligible to take the CA NCLEX due to concurrency. But since you already managed to take the NCLEX once, I'm not sure why they are asking for your classes.

Your best bet is to call Boards directly and square it away with them.

Uhm they're asking for my clinical rotations now... So im waiting for their response if they will let you study again... Because I heard that's what they will tell you to do...but I'm gonna grey what you said... Thanks since im just close to the main office..

While waiting for business hours to call the Boards, you can also try to post in the World > Advice on Immigration forum. Perhaps someone over there has more insight and may be able to help you more.

Good luck.

Hey there poala0413,

California can ask you for your cases if you have failed the NCLEX on the 1st try. The reason being is California and 12 other states have become strict on foreign applicants. If your completion dates on your cases don't correspond with your said lectures; ex DR cases completed when taking maternal/child/delivery lectures) then it is likely that California will deny your application even though you've received your ATT.

You are correct. California will require you to complete your OB cases again along with re-enrolling a medical surgical nursing subject. It would really depend on the letter, it varies from students but majority of students are being required to take up OB clinicals again. The problem is; are schools willing to accommodate us with considering there are thousands of students enrolling in a nursing program.

Ohh so that means I have no chance of just taking the exam next time... They will require me to study;(( ugh how come my friends they didn't do it... It's their 3rd take but didn't ask for that... Soo sad... I might just transfer to a different state then;(

Do you know any school that gives nursing program for my case?

I believe San Francisco offers the classes but there are hundreds of foreign grads with the same situation that we all are facing. It's awful. Would you risk waiting year after year till there is an opening? Schools can only take in 3-5 foreign graduates because schools can only train a small amount of students. The school will basically pick 3 or 4 foreign grads out of a hundred waiting for an opening.

There's also the ADN route that's 2 years. It will cost a lot though. But after getting the degree you won't have a problem with applying for the nclex.

Another suggestion that I highly recommend is applying at other states. Just not california, vermont, georgia, washington, illinois, oklahoma, louisiana, arizona, north dakota, west virginia, and recently nevada has been requiring applicants to take a physical assessment course and medical surgical level 2. As for now it's safe to apply in the states Michigan, Montana, Wisconsin, New york, Ohio, Minnesota.

So your choices are risking years of waiting for slots in school to open up, or take only months to apply at other states.

Well here is a link

NRSKarenRN posted the said states. But I would also add Nevada in there. It would be best to apply as soon as possible. Just to let you know New York has their own CGFNS requirement CVS. They don't accept CES I believe. Good luck to your state hunting. Just remember when life pushes you down to your knees just get back up and continue to move forward.
