Hello,
I have just completed my CNA course waiting to take my state exams.
I would like to get a ball park on the pre-req prices. Can anyone tell me how much per pre-req? I have a list of the classes to take. I understand the prices might vary, I know I need to buy the books, and they are expensive (even used) Just an estimate.
I need to sit down with an adviser at Palm Beach State College. Thanks in advance!

Have you checked your school website? Ive seen prices anywhere from $150 per credit to $800 per credit. Its school/area dependent.

In my state, community college classes are $26 per unit throughout the state. You can find out the costs from the web site, business office, or a counselor. There are grants, scholarships, and loan opportunities that you can research with the financial aid office if you can't afford full time school out of pocket.
Okay great thanks guys!

if you can get the ISBN number of the textbook you might be able to find it online cheaper.
Im talking about the pre-reqs Silly! I guess they go by per credit hour... my CNA program was "pay by the course" Thanks anyway;)

Here's what I did. I asked the instructor/professor if I could use a previous version of the book. For science classes, all but Chem, I was able to. I went online, found a website that had the previous version for less and purchased that. There are a few updates in the new book, but the instructors usually keep one on reserve in the library. I bought my Anatomy book for $34.00 and my physio book for $10.00, compared to $180 each book.
Good luck.

ISBN numbers are the codes for the textbooks. classicdane was trying to tell you that you can buy cheaper textbooks online instead of the school bookstore.

I don't know about her, but in California our community colleges are $26/unit as well.
