So I get a call at 3am the other night at work, assuming it was a family member looking for an update I pick up the phone to be suprised that it's a recruiter on the other end. He is from an agency who can place me in a hospital to work as an APRN making so much more than I do now, blah blah blah... So I say no thank you, to which he says, don't you want to make more than you do now. I reply, nope...

Wow, are hospitals that desparate for APRN's or is this guy just cold calling looking for business. He asked if there were any other APRN's in the hospital. I tried to protect them but I don't think he bought my, no sir, I am the ONLY one... Anyone else getting calls like this??

Specializes in General.

i saw a post a while back that said beware of calls like this these people work out of their homes and make calls, I had one calling me who was trying to get me to interview for a PA job when I asked if they were looking for either a NP or Pa he replied that it did not matter since are titles are interchangeable I had to explain that they were not and Np's and Pa's are certified by different body's. Plus the place that was looking to hire wanted someone who could see all age groups I am a PNP and explained that to him. He was like oh well i saw your resume and saw NP but did not realize what a PNP was, i was tempted to tell him pretty nurse practitioner but did'nt so beware of those cold calls

Surprised that anyone would be calling a prospective client at work much less at 3 am. He must be very desperate.
