Owning a Clinic?

I've undergone recent transformations from inside out. Starting with realizing the path I want to walk. I'm a very extroverted individual. I love motivating and encouraging my friends, I've found great pleasure in becoming fitter recently as well as more spiritual and of sound mind. All being said.

I have little dreams (or big) of one day owning my own wellness clinic. Not weight loss, but wellness. I want to have a team of people. Dietitian, personal trainer, psychotherapist, and NPs. I wish this facility could have a small gym, a kitchen, a living area, like a home!

I want to show and teach people how to transform their lives. That being healthy doesn't have to be boring or lonesome. I've been there, I've done that. I've been overweight. I have binge eating disorder. My dream is to help people like me and people looking to be healthier in a very holistic approach, to me this is the epitome of nursing.

I just want to speak it into existence and into the universe.

I'm currently working ICU. Enrolled in a BSN-NP path program.

I am excited for the future. I look forward to being a force in the improvement of NP education and thusly NP prescriptive/licensure authority.

Just wanted to spread some positivity.

Do it! Dreaming big is easy. Don't allow setbacks to get in the way.

Thanks for posting this. More of it is needed. I am on exactly this path myself...have been on this path for the past couple of years. It is a challenge. It takes determination and good ideas and a little bit of money to do it right. But it can be done, and it can be done profitably. I finally linked up with a physician colleague whom I have know for many, many years who is interested in partnering up with me to do it.

Wellness is definitely the way to go. While doing my research I found that more and more people are trying to get away treatments with toxic and addictive drugs and are looking for healthier alternatives and adjunctives. I have also found that the weight loss component is automatically a part of it because most people are overweight or obese. There are many directions in which we could take this as NP entrepreneurs, but many of us don't seem to believe that we can do better than working for some corporation or doctor who abuses, underpays, and disrespects us. Obviously, not every NP wants to own his/her own business but it seems to me as though most of the ones who want to don't seriously pursue it, and this is just too bad.
