Maryland is the latest to join 20 states and the District of Columbia in legislating full practice independence for NP's. The state previously required NP's to enter into an "attestation agreement" with physicians as a requirement for licensure.

So what? No one is claiming that the education and training is equivalent. The issue is independence, not equivalence. Let the healthcare consumer decide who to see for their healthcare.
