Is anyone on here an FNP?

I've been doing some research about the role of the FNP. I am very interested in women's health, but I'm not so sure if I want to limit myself down a WHNP pathway. I'd really like to get involved in prenatal care, lactation consulting, etc (but do not want to become a CNM), so it seems like the family NP role may be the best path to take. Does anyone have any insight? Do you think the FNP route would be the best road to take? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

You'd better do FNP as I know some WHNPs that can't find work but no FNPs in the same boat around here (midwest).

I think I responded to this very thread on 8-5-05. For some reason mine and a couple other responses have been removed.

I am an OB-GYN and family nurse practitioner. The FNP is much more marketable than the Woman's Health NP.

Hi All!

Sorry for probably a dumb question, but...

Are there some guys (males) who are FNPs. Honestly, I' m just exploring my options, and as some of you suggested FNP seems to be the only way to go these days for a better marketability. But it sure is longer. BTW any ideas on reputable programs in NYC area? I have B.S (premed). and M.S (Acupuncture) degrees, but none of them are in nursing. Any thoughts, advices are greatly appreciated.
