Hello, I recently enrolled in a Nurse Practitioner program in Chicago. I am just curious as to how much NP's realistically make per hour or per year in Chicago? Can an NP make 6 figures? Thanks!

Hmmm....good question. I'm in central IL and starting salary here is $85-95k so I would expect in Chicago you could start at 100K
Cool. Thanks for the reply. Are you an NP? Just curious about different schools
I'm actually a CNS but per the IL Nurse Practice Act, I function as an NP

I teach and work as an NP part time and I make six figures in Chicago. PM me for more specifics. I actually got a similar starting package than what I was offered in central/south Illinois (near where traumaRUs is- rationale is the the market is saturated here and if you don't take what they offer someone else will. This would likely change drastically with experience

And if you can't find work up there when you graduate, come on down to Springfield. Less saturation. Ed is needing help frequently.

I tried to PM you but I actually don't know how to lol..
Anyway, would you mind telling what company in Chicago you work for? both as an NP and as a professor?
Thank you!
I would prefer not to share specifics on a post. PM me when you have the required amount of post to obtain messaging abilities.

I am in school for my NP but the NPs I work with started out at about 75-80 about 3-4 years ago. Located in the Northwest suburbs. I'm curious to see what the offers will be like when I graduate. I am in my first semester.
