It's the white reflection instead of red. Great pick up!

Wow. Very cool.

I was reading the comments. I love the one that suggested the title of the article should be changed to Child Saved by NURSE.....

Thats so interesting. I have a friend (in her 20's) whose left eye reflects white in photos. is it the same concern for adults?

So my a child in my daughters preschool class has been coughing for over a month. It is that cough that you get when you have asthma. He sounds so tight when he breaths. He stays off in the corner while others are playing and he has the darkest circles under his eyes. I want to say something so bad but feel like they will think I'm a freak. Maybe they already know and will feel imposed on. Has anyone else told a complete stranger to get something checked out when you saw something off?

You last two posters: why not say something? Is a child going to be their own advocate?

The artical made me curious about that too so was doing a little looking at things and what I read said the retinoblastoma only is in young children, so if seeing the white eye in adults it wouldn't be that but could be a sign of something else so worth getting checked out. One interesting site about eyes reflecting white back...and what can cause it and lots of pics.

Yeah, I kind of have a big issue with the title of the article being "Facebook saves girl's life..." Seriously? How about NURSE saves girl's life. Great catch and great story (other than title)!

And a SCHOOL NURSE no less! I guess maybe we are good for a little more than passing out bandaids and ice packs!

Thanks for sharing this! Every week, my patho teacher likes to begin class with a nursing story. I sent this to her since it's an uplifting read. :redpinkhe
