Hey guys I just saw while looking at the criteria on how they choose scholarship recipients and it was saying something about disadvantage background and a form but when I did my application, there was no form and no mention of coming from a disadvantage background. Is anyone have any information on that when I call customer service? The representative told me that the disadvantage background application is with all applications, but I know I would not have missed that anybody can chime in because I really feel like I could've possibly missed out due to a form that I never had access to, but was told that it was made access to me.

I don't recall this. I do recall the two forms that needed to be signed but not anything along those lines. In my essay I did talk about my troubles during my up bringing & my experience with mental health & my experience with working with underserved communities. But that's about it!

Thanks. I know I wouldn't have missed that. I was just curious I mean the fact that they do ask for our financial aid summary should tell them. mine says -1500 🫤 . also the representative said like we're all told we will know by the end of September.

They haven't pulled mine and my application still says "submitted" even though I received an email that my application is under review. I did call HRSA prior to receiving the email. The representative stated that there are many applicant reviewers and they each have they on style of reviewing applications and that's the reason why some applicants will receive notifications at the same time or at a different time from another applicant. She also advise against relying on forums for information because no applicant knows who is reviewing there application and what the reviewer is actually up to when reviewing their application.
Yet, I'm still here following this forum bc it's easier said than done. 🤣 But I am close to giving up on checking my credit report often and just wait for HRSA final decision.

Hey, I got my email on 8/7saying that my application was under review but I had called before that and the representative told me that my application was under review. I never logged in to see if that status was accurate at the time she said which was about 2 weeks prior to 8/7. I only logged in after 8/7 to see if my application was under review I'm not sure if I received the credit check. I haven't gotten any notification in any of my apps or email that said a change to my credit has happened. What should I look for For credit check will it notify you?

The credit checked looked like this on my Experian credit report. It doesn't show on my credit karma right now but some people said you kind of have to play with credit karma to eventually find it. Yes the experian app notified me of a new inquiry. Also, I highly suggest regularly checking the portal and your email because if they send the COI, you only have a couple days to have your school sign it. Good luck!

Congratulations. No there's no inquiry on my credit. If they inquire does that usually mean you more than likely got it if everything goes good with that and there's no federal debt ? In bad standing

I don't think so. Some people said they have gotten the scholarship without getting a notification of a credit check and some say they probably did have a credit check and just didn't see it. So at this point it seems like people have different experiences up until 9/30. All we can do is wait and see what happens. I pray we are all blessed with this opportunity!
