Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.
Hello everyone,
I also got my rejection email today. I won't be applying again. I am in my last semester of the ADN program and will just apply to an employer who pays for continuing education. I've been employed full time all of this time, and i'm a single mother with two boys, so it can be done. I do find myself going paycheck to paycheck but it'll be worth it in the end. Good luck and congratulations to everyone who made it.
I got my rejection today. I am now looking toward using loans---any suggestions? I am in the 1st semester of an Accelerated BSN program.
I feel your pain. It was me who noticed I went from final review to under review...I called today as I am in shock. She also told me they ran out of money and they will escalate the problem, but it seems this is happening to everyone. I am so upset. I was planning from August that I got this...

Jyurechko, I am SO glad that you did notice and post your original message as it made me check my portal to see the exact same change. And I'm in the same boat as you (the planning from August that we would receive the award). I wonder just how many applicants were affected?
Elizebthe I understand u are In really taff situation, but trust me I was in your shoes. However, nursing job is everywhere and good pay. So you will make good money and pay your loan. I am in Washington in seattle we have a lot of job opportunity. Come here. lol
Ammarts10, thanks for making me smile! And Seattle (and the surrounding area is beautiful).
Hi Elizabeth. I am in your shoes. I feel so tossed around on this emotional rollercoaster.
I can't find posts where individuals have said they were both notified and awarded within the last 48 hours? Can you provide me with the posts, dates, or usernames of those folks who posted that?
I am trying to figure out how they chose certain folks to revoke their finalist status from. Is it random, is it discriminatory?
Thanks for your help!
Do you think they made a mistake or anything? It doesn't seem right...we got the first wave of contracts signed.
This is what I am wondering Jyurechko. I have even spoken directly (several times) with the case manager (or whatever technical term for the person who is assigned to you once you are awarded) to have a form updated and to answer a question about my school. I left her a voice-mail today regarding the rejection notification but so far I haven't heard back.

Hi ammarts10, yes, I'm trying to think positive and relax. And yes, God does have a reason for this (thanks for the reminder). I also took out loans but my BSN courses are very expensive, so I have very little left over to pay for daily living, bills, etc. so that will be the tough part to sort out and not have undue stress. Thanks for your thoughts. Best, Elizabeth
