Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

I received the finalist email on 8/20 and had a credit check on 8/21. I am in an accelerated program that we become RNs in the first year and then NP for the rest of the curriculum. My specialty is adult acute care. I know a couple of others who have received the scholarship in my program. Their specialties include psych, family, women's health, and Adult primary.

Does anyone know if everyone who received the finalist email get the scholarship if there are no red flags in the application and credit check?

The purpose of the Nurse Corps Scholarship is for critical shortage areas. The National Health Service Corps scholarship is geared toward primary care.

So you and your friends who accepted in psych, family and women health program. Are guys attending school for RN or ARNP program ?

So when do we apply again if we weren't selected? And what other scholarships (if any) are people applying for? I'll basically do anything to get my loans at least partially paid for.

Hey everyone! I'm an ABSN student, and I just received a finalist notification this morning at 10am EST! So there is still hope! I will say, I was only given 2 days to accept the award, so maybe they are starting to send out awards based on remaining funds.

Congratulations! Very happy for you and all award recipients! Were there any Psych NPs that were awarded? I thought there was going to be stronger focus on Psych?

I am in DNP psych program. But didn't get anything lol
